John Lewis

“Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.”

                                                      ― John Lewis

John Lewis was an American civil rights leader and politician whose "good trouble" quote became a rallying cry for those ready to confront discrimination and injustice head-on. Lewis believed civil disobedience was necessary for progress, even if it meant breaking unjust laws. "Good trouble" conveyed the notion that the pursuit of justice requires individuals to make necessary trouble to provoke awareness and bring about change.

Roe v Wade

The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, holding that there was no longer a federal constitutional right to an abortion.

The abortion debate highlights an idea that has long been upheld and promoted around the world: that women never take priority. Throughout history, the U.S. government has told women what they can and cannot do. Women were told that they couldn’t own property, open a bank account, vote, get divorced, attend college, or work outside the home, among many, many other things. Without choice, women's rights are secondary. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
