These floor pieces are created with hand-dyed yarn.

 

I have long loved the Peace sign. It was designed by Gerald Holton in 1958 for a campaign supporting Nuclear Disarmament. The vertical line represents the flag semaphore for the letter D. The two lines on either side represent the letter N. I appreciate the power of this universally recognized symbol.

I created The Seasons floor pieces after seeing Cy Twombly's paintings in the Tate Modern. They inspired my color choices for these works. The exception is Bluebell - Spring. England’s woods are carpeted with bluebells; it is such a beautiful sight. 

With these works, I invite the viewer to have a tactile experience celebrating each season.
